CEDS

The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) contributes to effective economic development in the region and its communities through a locally-based, regionally-driven economic development planning process.

Western Connecticut  Economic Development Plan: A Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, 2017

Created in collaboration with the Region’s private sector and public input, this CEDS was prepared to meet State and federal planning requirements for economic development grants. It also serves as a refreshed regional data base for municipal marketing and economic development efforts. It was adopted by the COG Council on October 5, 2017. State and federal approvals are currently being sought.

Western CT Economic Advisory Group

WestCOG has worked to create a new unified CEDS for our new unified region. Per EDA requirements, WestCOG has called together stakeholders to create the Western CT Economic Advisory Group.

One Coast, One Future, 2009

OCReportVol1R1jpg_Page1One Coast, One Future is a consortium of 14 communities in lower Fairfield County whose study funding was acquired by former Congress member Christopher Shays under the leadership of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council and The Business Council of Fairfield County in cooperation with the Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce. Located in Coastal Fairfield County Connecticut, One Coast, One Future is a regional initiative formed in 2005. Its mission is to promote vibrant economic growth in the region by linking the social and economic advantages offered by the three urban centers and surrounding towns.
