Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4 General Permit):
The permit requires municipalities to take steps to keep the stormwater entering its storm sewer systems clean before entering streams, lakes, and bays.
Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination (IDDE):
The process of spotting and fixing pipes or outfalls discharging polluted water.
Directly Connected Impervious Area (DCIA):
Areas where stormwater flows right from a hard surface directly into a stormwater drain. The goal is to disconnect these surfaces.
