Norwalk Route 1 Corridor Master Plan Study

Norwalk Route 1 Corridor Master Plan Study

Study Overview

The Norwalk Route 1 Corridor Master Plan Study for Connecticut Avenue & Van Buren Avenue aims to provide short-term recommendations on enhancing mobility, safety, and accessibility on the corridor. Recommendations will center on projects that can be quickly implemented and directly address current and projected transportation needs, alleviate crashes and congestion, produce opportunities for complete streets and green mobility use, and develop design-centered frameworks on creating vibrant and aesthetic community infrastructure. This study will also identify long-term solutions for the corridor to be addressed within 25 years.

The study focuses on a 2.9-mile corridor on US Route 1 (Connecticut Avenue & Van Buren Avenue) and the parallel roads on Flax Hill Avenue and West Cedar Street in Norwalk, Connecticut.
