Safe Routes to School – Roton Middle School, 2009

DocsMiscSRTS_flyer_22april09Safe Routes to School is a national movement to promote walking and bicycling to school,  involving a coordinated effort to improve traffic safety in the area around schools and instill a healthy and active lifestyle in young people. Roton Middle School partnered with the City of Norwalk, SWRPA, and Fitzgerald and Halliday to develop a Safe Routes to School master plan. The master plan includes a survey of students’ travel habits, as assessment of streets and sidewalks around Roton, and recommendations for physical improvements as well as an education and encouragement program.
