Federal Transit Administration Section 5310
Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5310 Program intends to enhance mobility for seniors and persons with disabilities by providing funds for programs that serve the special needs of transit-dependent populations beyond traditional public transportation and paratransit. This Program awards grants towards the purchase of wheelchair accessible vehicles. Both private non-profit organizations and local public bodies are eligible for FTA Section 5310 funds.
