On November 16th, Planners from 9 municipalities in the region gathered for WestCOG’s first Planners’ Lunch. It was a great opportunity for the planners to share what’s happening in their towns and discuss possible regional projects. The lunch featured a presentation by Isabelle Hazelwood from the CT Green Bank on the importance of streamlined permitting for solar energy projects to take advantage of an expiring federal tax credit. Ms. Hazelwood was joined by Daniel Marci from Yale who is researching how supported solar projects are across the state and may be developing best practices for permitting. The Planners’ Lunch occurs quarterly.
