9th Annual Business Supports the Arts Awards Breakfast

WestCOG staff attended the 9th Annual Business Supports the Arts Award Breakfast. The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut’s “Business Supports the Arts” serves to increase visibility for arts and culture in Western Connecticut while gathering together many prominent leaders in our regional arts and business communities.

WestCOG had a table there and supported the event, which is the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut’s premiere fundraising event. The event was attended by staff, CEOs, municipal officials, stakeholders in the arts, and the general public.

At the event staff spent time with WestCOG CEOs; Chairman, First Selectmen Matt Knickerbocker, First Selectmen Rudy Marconi, and May Mark Boughton, and other community members like Hal Kurfehs of Brookfield and Betsy Paynter of Newtown.

This year’s honorees, nominated by their peers, were the Savings Bank of Danbury (BSA Award), Steve Zemo (Arts in the Community Award) and Allison Stockel (Heart of the Arts Award).
