Branchville -Georgetown Sewer Feasibility Study

On behalf of the Towns of Redding and Ridgefield, WestCOG secured an FY2023 USEPA Community Grant to conduct a sewer feasibility study.  This study, which is anticipated to begin in late 2023, will examine what infrastructure improvements would be required in the Branchville section of Ridgefield and in the Georgetown section of Redding.  The project goals are to:

  • evaluate current wastewater treatment capacity;
  • provide for anticipated wastewater management needs in the area, particularly to establish a sewer route from Georgetown to Branchville and to accommodate the redevelopment of the Gilbert & Bennett Wire Mill
  • plan for improvements that will contribute to improved water quality in the adjacent Norwalk River.

Additional Information will be posted as the Study progresses. WestCOG contact: Todd Fontanella, tfontanella@westcog.org
