Every four years, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) must certify that South Western Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (SWRMPO) is carrying out the metropolitan planning process in adherence with federal statutes and regulations under 23 U.S.C. 134 and 49 U.S.C. 5303.
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) will conduct a joint review of SWRMPO’s metropolitan planning process. As part of this review, there will be an opportunity for public comment on April 8, 2026 during the Technical Advisory Group meeting which begins at 11:00 am and on April 16, 2026 during the SWMRPO meeting which begins at 12:00 pm.
