Broadband Community Forum
DEEP’s Office of Telecommunications and Broadband (OTB) is excited to share that we will be hosting nine Regional Community Forum events throughout the state as part of the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program outreach. These events will focus on the lived experiences of community members, aiding the state in gathering feedback on issues with access, performance, affordability, and digital skills. The sessions will also touch on unique local challenges and opportunities to help inform the state’s Initial Proposal and assist in informing how the state invests $144M in broadband funding. The full Initial Proposal has been posted for public comment. Initial Proposal Volume 1 will be open until Friday, November 17th, 2023 and Initial Proposal Volume 2’s public comment will be open until Friday, December 8th, 2023, and we want to ensure every region is well represented.
I wanted to personally reach out and invite you to the Western COG Broadband Regional Community Forum that has been scheduled for November 13, 2023 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at the Danbury Library (170 Main St, Danbury, CT 06810).
