Hosting Flood Mitigation Information Sessions for Winter 2025

WestCOG and its consultant team hosted two public information sessions (one in-person, one virtual) last month to educate property owners in the region on FEMA grant opportunities available for flood mitigation. The sessions presented an overview of active grant programs and conducted one-on-one meetings with homeowners and the WestCOG team. These meetings provided an opportunity for residents impacted by flooding to discuss potential long-term solutions and match them with funding opportunities.

Three FEMA grant programs are currently active and provide funding support for individual flood mitigation projects: Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA), FMA Swift Current, and the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP).
