WestCOG Stormwater Activities
WestCOG is working with municipalities and partner organizations to prepare communities to meet upcoming municipal separate storm sewer (MS4) permit requirements through collaborative solutions.
Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4 General Permit):
The permit requires municipalities to take steps to keep the stormwater entering its storm sewer systems clean before entering streams, lakes, and bays.
Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination (IDDE):
The process of spotting and fixing pipes or outfalls discharging polluted water.
Directly Connected Impervious Area (DCIA):
Areas where stormwater flows right from a hard surface directly into a stormwater drain. The goal is to disconnect these surfaces.
