PUBLIC COMMENT REQUESTED FOR 2020-2030 WESTERN CONNECTICUT POCD

The Draft 2020-2030 Western Connecticut Regional Plan of Conservation and Development is now available for public comment.  You can find the plan and more information on the Plan of Conservation and Development webpage or at plan.westcog.org

Join us at one of our Public Information Meetings to learn more about the plan, ask questions and provide feedback.  The presentation will be the same at either location.

Launch of Sustainable CT

Sustainable CT, a new statewide initiative to support Connecticut’s cities and towns, will have a regional launch event on January 9th, at the Comstock Community Center in Wilton, in collaboration with the Western Council of Governments, at 1:00 p.m.  Created by towns for towns, the initiative includes a wide-ranging menu of sustainability best practices, tools and resources, peer learning, and recognition. 30-DAY PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD UNDERWAY

Regarding their regional transportation plans and transportation capital improvement programs, the Housatonic Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization (HVMPO) and the South Western Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (SWRMPO) are required to submit Air Quality Conformity Statements to the US Federal Highway Administration and to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). WestCOG Partners with the Governor’s Council on Climate Change

WestCOG is pleased to partner with the Governor’s Council on Climate Change (GC3) in coordinating a series of stakeholder engagement events this year.  This first stakeholder meeting provides the opportunity to learn about and offer feedback on the technologies and measures that will be modeled in the Long range Energy Alternatives Planning System (LEAP). This widely-used software tool for energy policy analysis and climate change mitigation assessment will help us understand the GHG reduction potential of various measures and technologies (and combinations thereof).
