WestCOG is conducting a Municipal Legal Notice Assessment to better understand how Connecticut municipalities publish legal notices, the costs associated with those notices, and opportunities to improve the process (both for the municipality and the public).
Project Goals
Understand Municipal Practices by documenting where, how, and frequency in which publish legal notices.
Analyze Costs by collecting legal notice expenditures, reviewing trends across fiscal years, and comparing across municipalities.
Explore Modernization Options by identifying potential cost-saving measures and alternative streamline formats with reduced cost, standardized structure, legally compliant, and wider public exposure.
